Ms. Teresa,
i want first to thank you for previous help on question i asked about
now i've got another;-) hope iam not annoying

my two cats (white persian and snowshoe) got flea on their neck and the vet put for them medicine on the neck aqnd let them to dry alone. the vet told me to put to the persian cat after two days as today he got shower and so.

i know this medicine is good.but my question will it take time to kill all the flea.i mean is it a matter of days. just now i saw some of them tried to take some off and their head is bit like all small black spots (hope you got my description.

the vet said it could come from shoes as they like to play with.i have to clean all my shoes and all carpets as they always lie down. do you think i have to wash everything they are using

Hello Ziad, What type of flea medication are you using?? If you use CAPSTAR it kills the fleas RIGHT AWAY!! If you use ADVANTAGE or PROGRAM it can take a week before the fleas are gone. With any of these medications you need to keep up with them and use them every month !! Also you should be bathing them once a week until the fleas are gone. The black dirt you see has flea eggs in it and they will hatch in a few days. So, even if you kill the older fleas you will have new babies coming along unless you get rid of that black dandruff. Look around the house for it also and wash anything that has it on it. Your shoes won't have fleas ON them but you can carry fleas into your home on your shoes and then the fleas jump off onto your cats. Fleas like to be where it is very warm ... and that is your cat!
