Im hoping my siamese is pregnant

Question
Okay, I need help.  I think my Siamese is pregnant, she is 6 days late coming in season, her longest time ever.  I'm in a rush to know for sure, but I have a few questions I need to know if she is.  My questions are- 1. should I allow her to wrestle with the male?  2. Should I still pick her up under her belly or do I need to be more careful?  3. She seems to be eating my dogs food frequently, should I stop that?  4. Should I allow the male to be around the newborns?  5. My dogs are not allowed to mess with my cats and they know that, but do I need to keep my dogs away from my female at anytime during her pregnancy?  6. Is there any info that I might need to know?  I have two dogs and the male that mated with her, I just want to make sure that she is comfortable in her surroundings with them since she is probably pregnant.  Please help me and thank you so much for your time.  I want to add that my Siamse is very special to me and this will be the first time I've owned a pregnant cat and I want nothing but the best for her.  I know you will send me an e-mail when my question is ready, but please let me know where I can find my answer because I'm new at the internet and I wont know where to find it.  Again, thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Libby, If your cat is late coming in season that doesn't mean much as cats do not have regular seasons. BUT if she is living with a male I would imagine she is indeed pregnant!  It is ok if she wrestles with your male cat. It is ok to pick her up as you usually do. It is ok if she eats the dog food but maybe try to find a hiqh quality cat food that she likes better than the dog food. If she is pregnant she should be eating a kitten food to get extra nutrition. You will have to see how your male is with the newborns. Some are very gentle, some are not. Certainly when she is ready to deliver she should have a quite place to herself without the male around or the dogs. As long as your dogs are gentle with her they can be around her when she is pregnant. When she is ready to deliver then take everyone away, but up until then she will enjoy the companionship. A cat gestation is about 9 weeks. Teresa
