cat neutering

Question
Hi, I have 2 male kittens that are around 5 to 6 months old. they are indoor cats but I let them go outside when they want also, but mainly inside. I have other outdoor cats that are barn cats. The females are fixed and we have one Tom cat that sprays on everything. I was wondering if I take my two kittens in to get them neutered if they can still spray after this procedure? They haven't done this at all yet but I don't want them to start if they are going to be mostly indoor cats. If that is the case if they still might spray afterwards, then I won't get them fixed.

Answer
You should definately get them neutered asap.. chances are if they aren't spraying now, they won't afterwards either.
They will also not have the urge to roam and run away from home to find a mate. (and maybe get hit by a car in the process!)

I would seriously consider getting the outdoor tomcat neutered too whether he continues to spray or not (he may stop after a while)  Not because of the spraying...but because he can wander all over the neighboorhood and get
dozens of unaltered females pregnant!

Think of all those
kittens he is reproducing to the already overcrowded pet population. Those kittens may end up in the local animal shelter and be euthanized if they can't be adopted out.

Visit your local animal shelter sometime to see this..
