Question
I have a cat who is about 2 years old.  She is pure white with short hair so we keep her inside so she doesn't develop cancer on her ears.  She got out recently and so she had a kitten (just one - a male) which we kept for my daughter.  This was about 4 months ago.  The mother is not very friendly she would come and sit on your lap but did not really stay if you started to pet her.  When she goes on heat she ignores me and pays a lot of attention to my husband (who is not a cat person).  Over the last week she has gone on heat again, but this time she has become really aggressive.  She keeps attacking her son quite viciously.  She is even starting to attack us now and she makes that warning growl all the time.  Any ideas what could be wrong.  Can she be turning ferral?

Answer
Elaine,

Things will settle down and become much better, if you get her spayed.  The behaviors she is exhibiting are consistent with whole females going in and out of season.  Some females become real witches when they are in season!!!!!

Best regards... Norm.
