16 year old cat vomiting

we have a 16 year old maine coon female. she is an indoor cat and has begun to vomit a white foam, she still is drinking water though not much, and she has not eaten for 2 days. we are not sure if this is simply her body starting to wind down or if it may be more serious. she does not seem to be in pain and still is staying around the family but it some what lethargic. we would appriciate any help.

Your cat is obviously very ill and she needs to see a vet immediately. If the situation is hopeless a vet will be able to tell you, but at this point you don't have a diagnosis and that decision should never be made lightly. It may interest you to know that well cared for indoor cats can live to be 20+ years old. Your kitty is about 80 in human years, but if she has been in good health up to this point this may just be an issue that can be treated or managed.
