cat is bleeding

Question
We have a 6 yr old female cat that was fixed as a kitten . She has just recently started bleeding out of her rear. Do you have any idea what is causing this or how we can make it better?

Answer
Andrea,

There are two orifices in the rear, the anus and the vagina.  In either case, bleeding out of either of these is a bad thing.

I would get your cat to your vet immediately.  If it is the anus, she could have a nasty intestinal parasite problem, or worse.  If it is the vagina, she could have a nasty urinary tract infection, or worse.

Best regards... Norm.
