Question
I have 2 kittens that had fallen from the rafters over my kitchen and were traped in the wall. The queen must have had them in the attic, I opened the wall and saved the kitty's and mad a nest in a box with blankets, and put them in the garage where the mother had given birth , tonight the mother returned I shut the door so that the mom would find her babies in the box, I put fresh water and food there by the box for the mom, I check in periodically and see no sign that the mom is attending to the babies, she must be high up in the rafters. the babies are crying. I am so distraut. Is the mom rejecting them because I had to move them. they would have died in the wall...please help I am so upset. My husband says the mother will take care of them, or maybe she will smother them because she will smell human contact on them. As i said they are ferals. thank you

Answer
Hi Noreen,

The mom is very scared right now. She may not take care of them. I think you will have to raise them yourself. It's not hard. I am attaching a couple of links on how to raise feral kittens. By the time you finish with them they will be great companion kittens. I am also attaching a recipe for my formula of Kitty Glop. This is the stuff to feed them. If you can't take care of them call the local animal rescue league and ask them if there is a foster care for them.
Good luck. And let the mom have free access again. You might want to trap her and get her fixed.

Ciao, Karen
