Cat pulling out fur/making wounds

Question
My cat has pulled all of the fur off her belly, a couple of patches on her back legs, and recently has created a half dollar sized open wound from licking her bald belly.  She still won't leave it alone.  There are no fleas or other irritations that I can discern and she is an indoor only cat.  Do you have any ideas about how I can help her or what is going on?  Should she see a vet?  Thanks so much!

This sounds like a flea allergy. Cats are really good at removing fleas from themselves. And fleas can jump into your house at anytime. You should take her to the vet to be sure. A treatment of Advantage or Frontline for cats will take of her fleas. Good luck.
