Feeding my kittens

Question
I have two 4-5 week old kittens. I have read and been told that I can now introduce them to food. I am currently trying to do so but I am afraid it might still be too early to do so. Also, one kitten(Cailu) will drink out of a small bowl but Tippy will not. What should I do in regards to the feeding?

Answer
Hi Laronda, there is not real urgency to wean kittens, unless they are orphans and you are hand feeding. I let mine wean themselves and they will do this naturally at their own speed. This is the healthiest way for them to wean.  Mom will start to vomit food up for them that is partially digested so it is easy for them to eat. You don't have to worry... if they want to eat what you put down in front of them .. they will.. and if they don't... don't worry about it. Mother nature takes care of these things! Teresa
