my cat is losing alot of fur

My ragdoll has recently been losing alot of fur, after taking him to a vet they said he was ok %26 it was normal, no tests were run. However, i don't think it is, as he is a ragdoll %26 it comes out in sheets when i stroke him and when he shakes it just falls out. He eats a good brand of food %26 freshly cooked fish, i literally get covered when i pick him up. Do you think its worth getting a second opinion?

Any huge loss of hair in a cat is something that is not OK. Yes, I would definitely get a second opinion. Here is a good link that deals specifically with hair loss in Ragdolls.
