urgent problems with 1st time cat birthing

our cat gave birth to 4 kittens starting about 28hrs ago. we think she has a dead/alive cat(s) still in her. she is lethargic, just an hour ago we noticed some small red blood spots on her clean bedding. she will kind of get up to drink milk only. we think we feel a kitten inside of her and when we rub her belly and try to gently push down so it may come out she turns on her back and you can tell it feels good. i am unemployed and do not have $ to go to the vet. plus it's sunday and i think the only emerg vet is quite far away. any advice of what we should watch for or do.. i am now going to try and contact that vet er place to see if they will take payments or reduced fee, i have 3 kids and they will be devistated. i am so torn as what to do. i have had a cat before have 2 litters and that cat did not act at all like this one is. she is 2 yrs old. thank you for anything you can advise.  Melly

I wish I could help you further but this something that a vet needs to take of. It may be a kitten or it may be afterbirth. Only a vet will be able to tell you what is up. Most vets will work with you on the payments. Hopefully this one will. Good luck.
