Siamese Kitten and eye discharge and sneezing

Question
Hello,
We just got a Siamese kitten and she has eye discharge and once had clear runny discharge from her nose. I took her to the vet today and he gave me antibiotic orally and drops for her eyes. She is eating, sleeping, playing. She is also sneezing. I have also noticed that her bottom area is a bit swollen. The vet noticed this but didn't say anything about it. Is our kitten going to have lifelong problems? Should the antibiotics cure our precious kitty? What else should we do? I have a feeling the lady that sold us our kitten knew about her "cold" because she put ointment in our bag of things for the cat and told me to put it on her eyes if there is discharge, as we were leaving with the kitten. Our family has become attached to our kitty and she really has a great personality. Please advise.
Thank you so much.

Answer
Shannon,

I'm sorry but this is a question you need to ask of a vet. Try a 2nd vet for a 2nd opinion. Only by a physical exam and tests can a vet tell you if it is an allergy, a cold, a feline inherited disease, etc. It can't and shouldn't be done over the internet. It's your kitty's life that you are taking a chance on if you do.
