mother cat moving babies to cold basement room from warm upstairs room

Question
Our new mommie cat just moved her 4 week old babies from our warm upstairs bedroom (where she gave birth to a very cold basement room.  I was wondering if the babies can get too cold or if her instincts are right and they will be okay?

Answer
Hi
well yes it is important that the kittens have somewhere warm to sleep. Equally it is important that they are not too warm. perhaps the mum cat felt that it was too warm where she was.

make sure that in the basement there is a warm box with paper in etc so that there is somewhere warm for them.

i have some pages on my web site about kitten care which you may find of interest. Here is the first page
/kitten-care.html

best wishes Kate
