Cat spraying

Hello, I have a cat that is spraying in our house. He is 9 years old, and is fixed. I'm hoping that there is a solution to this nasty behavior habit of his. We have a dog as well, and they do get along. They even curl-up and sleep together. We have had both cat and dog in the same house for almost a full year, and just recently noticed our cat spraying. I am very open to suggestions. If you can help us, we greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

This is most likely a stress-related problem.
Is there any other changes in your household recently that could have caused this?
It could also be a territorial thing between your cat and the dog, however, if they get along well, that is less likely.
Cats are extremely sensitive to change.
You could also try using a spray pheromone like Feliway or a plug-in kind from the pet store.
