Question
My cat was sleeping. and i went to go and pick him up and i picked up his head and he wa totally non-responsive.So today i brought him to the vet and she took his heart beet and she "said" that when hes calm that it would be around 135, and his blood pressure is 91/57, he is a one year old male cat ...i was just wondering if i should be concerened( he did not get tested for thyroid),)
thank you so much

Answer
Hi Wendy,

It's good that you are concerned. However I think your cat is just a deep sleeper. Hyperthyroidism is the disease that cats get. It is a disease of older cats. And he would be losing a lot of weight if he had it. I believe he is just a deep sleeper. Take a look at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f8nXVZ_wh0
See if you see some similarities. I wouldn't worry about it. You did the right thing by having him checked by your vet. All checked out OK there. He is fine. Enjoy the quiet time. Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
