Cat Abcess

My cat had an abscess near his throat/chin. It just ruptured this morning. Should i go to the vet or is there home treatment?? My cat is male, he's about 9 months, and is named Smokey.

Hi Crystal,

It's best to get him to the vet. The abscess needs to be cleaned out and he needs antibiotics. If it was by any other area then what you said you could treat at home. But being by that area you have to be a little more careful. Good luck and take care.
