Question
Dear Notama
Yes!I've a question again!actually i want to consult you about on of my queens,PRINCESS.
PRINCESS is a two and half years old white Persian cat.her first delivery happened when she was 14 months old and she gave birth to two kittens without any problem.then she waited for about 10 months and when she was about two years old ,this time she gave birth to triplets  normally.actually at that time, i had expected her to call at least 6 months after the second delivery .but, surprisingly about two months after it she started to call and as the result she got pregnant for the third time.
she was just OK and her belly was going to enlarge, but one day which i had taken her to a vet for checking her up ,the careless vet squeezed her when he was trying  to inject her some vitamins or something and Princess was trying to avoid this.she was exactly one month pregnant when it happened.
As you can guess ,unfortunately from the same night contractions began and for about one week poor Princess of mine had bleeding and contractions and after that, the process of miscarriage ended.although i was sad , i was thankful to god that she is alright and sounds healthy again.
But exactly 3 weeks after the sad event, yesterday she started to call again ,and I'm just furious and confused!
So in your opinion as an expert, should i let her mate or i must keep her separated from my tom cat until the next call?
she plays and looks healthy i must say.
Thank you a very very much.
Soheil from Iran."

Answer
Hello Soheil,

In my opinion this is much too soon to breed your queen again.  The rule of thumb is one year after the last delivery or three strong heats, a persian is generally very easy to hold off for a year or longer as they tend not to call very often.

Good luck,

Natoma
