How long does a tom cat stay away from home in mating season? How far can a tom cat smells his home before he gets lost? My tom cat is 7,5 months old and is missing now for a week I am very worried about him

At 7.5 months old your boy is not really very actively mature so I think it unlikely that he is missing because of mating.  In fact the mating season in most cases has finished and most girls won't come into season now until Spring.

I would suggest that you put out notices advertising he is missing in case he has got locked in a shed somewhere. I would also suggest that when he is returned home you arrange for the vet to neuter him so that you don't have these worries in the future.  It will also ensure that he is not so much at risk of picking up diseases such as Feline Leukaemia and FIV (Feline Aids).
