QUESTION: Ma'am,
I have never had cats as a child or an adult up until recently when a man brought a cat to my house asking me to please take her because he found her and he was living in his vehicle. It was a Saturday, so he couldn't take her to a shelter. I have come to believe that this was fate bringing me this cat because I have absolutely fallen in love with her and want to know all about her. I have reason to believe she is a Silver Siberian based on comparing her pictures to ones on the internet. I would like to know, by looking at her, do you suppose she is a Silver Siberian? Also, I read that the Siberian is slightly rare in the U.S. because they hadn't started to become imported until 1990. Is this true, are they rare? If you do think she is siberian, do you think she is pure siberian or a mix? Thank you very much.

Sara
(I attached a picture)...her name is Starlit Priscilla

ANSWER: Hi Sara--
I have a very good friend who happens to breed siberians.  I'll forward her your picture and get her opinion.  The only bad thing is....without paperwork (registration form or pedigree), even breeders can only guess as to the origins of a cat....siberians are much more popular now than ever and are not extremely rare anymore...but there are fewer of them than of other breeds, certainly.  I'll let you know what I hear from my friend.

QUESTION: yes, please! I would appreciate that very much if you could ask your friend. I will send another picture to make things more clear. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate you helping me better understand her.

Answer
Not a problem!  Here is what my friend said:

"I just noticed the cream on her feet and saw you said she is a girl. She would be a blue mack torbie if that is cream I am seeing on her back feet. She is lovely, lacking a bit of chin, but I love her ears and she appears to be good sized..."

In a prior email she indicated that if she was not a full blooded siberian, there was at least SOME siberian in her....so...I hope that is what you were wanting to hear!

Best Always!
