trouble with urinating cat

Question
Maybe it is a cry for help but my cat has been urinating on all of our furniture.  What can I do she is ruining things.  The last thing I want to do is get rid of her but she won't stop.  She will meow for hours during the night then after she stops she will go to her litter.  Do you think there may be something wrong with her.  Is she just marking her territory?  Is there anything that will make her stop doing this?  Thank  you I am very concerned.

Answer
Hi Kalee!  I just have to say, my friend just had a baby and named her Kalee!  It's a beautiful name:)
As for your kitty...is she spayed?  If she isn't spayed, urinating outside the litterbox during a heat cycle can be a normal behavior.  Crying during the night is as well.  A cat can be in heat as long and as often as she wants.  If she isn't spayed, getting her spayed will definitely eliminate these problems.
If she is spayed, it is likely that she is suffering from a urinary tract infection, which would cause similar symptoms.
Your best bet would be to have your veterinarian physically examine her to rule out any health problems.  If it is found that this is a behavioral issue, write me back and I will help you with that!
I hope this helps,
Hilary
