My cat is overweight.  How can I safely get her to lose weight?

Hi there!  Your best bet would simply be to switch over to a restricted calorie diet.  Most of the commercial foods sell restricted calorie diets, or you can purchase a prescription restricted calorie diet through your veterinarian.  Eliminate all canned food from your cat's diet.  Canned food is so high in fat and calorie content, and will only cause your cat to gain weight.  A dry restricted calorie diet would be best and will cut her calorie intake enough for you to see a significant difference.
