Loose stools

Question
My golden retriever has had loose stools off and on for three weeks.  Occasional trace of blood.

Could he have worms?  He has only drug his rear end on the floor one time.  He is in the garage all day and will not go in there.  He has had a couple of accidents when left in the house overnight.

He seems to have firmer stools when he is let out to go on a regular basis.  Could this condition be a result of trying to hold it?  Or, would you suspect worms or something else?

Thank you

Answer
This cold definitly be a type of worm. Even if you have only seen him scoot his butt once. There are different types of worms it could be. I would get him to the vet asap to get it checked out and treated if it is. Here is a website you can go to that will give you a better idea about what kind of parasite it could be by his symptoms. I hope it helps. Please don't use it in place of a veterinarian. He should definitly be look at. Some parasites can also be trasmitted to humans. So I suggest that you get it taken care of asap. I hope I was of help. Sorry for the delay in my answer. I had some things going on at home. Copy and paste this link into your browser.
