Question
hello

i want to know if i can give my dog the human form
of probiotics
she is a mixed breed and is 8 yrs old and 35 pounds
the dosage is 100 mg in capsule form
i am giving her this for digestive problems
is the human form the same as the pet form

thank you so much in advance

Answer
Well I haven't read the ingredients on the canine form but they are probably close. I would give her less than a human does however. Too much can cause diarrhea. From what I have read just now it uses the same acidophillis but the amount may vary, so be safe and use a small amount to start with.

If she is having some problems such as vomiting bile, etc not treating those correctly can be very dangerous. You might be missing the fact that she has a serious problem such as pancreatitis, which is very common in dogs. Doing so could be fatal, so be careful.

You should always call your vet and ask before treating at home for any reason.
