porcupine quills

i have a yellow lab that was hit by 15 to 20 quills in the left shoulder i was able to pull them out should a vet check her out she has some swelling in the area and still wont put any weight n the leg, this happened some time in the early am hours today.....could there be some quills under the skin that we dont see or feel???

I would highly suggest taking your dog to the veterinarian immediately.He may need some medication or cream that your vet may prescribe.
