Question
My dog has seisures, how do i tell if it is thyroid or epilepsy related?

Answer
A complete blood work up should be done to rule out any underyling causes of the seizures.  Abnormal blood counts, electrolyte imbalances, liver disease, low blood sugar levels (or diabetes), low calcium levels, underactive thyroid and Lyme Disease can all cause seizures.  If all the blood tests are normal, then we would diagnose it as idiopathic epilepsy.

You should also make sure you are feeding an all-natural diet that is void of dyes, preservatives and by-products.  You can supplement with B complex Vitamins, Omega 3 fatty acids, Ester C and a lot of fresh veggies and some raw meat to help boost up his nutrition level.
