Question
Is there a difference between dog hair and dog fur? Do some breeds have one rather than the other?...Ms. Towne..(If not your field please advise)

Answer
Hair grows constantly and does not have a seasonal shed as does fur.  Fur is usually composed of a central thick hair surrounded by finer hairs (the so-called undercoat) that shed out based on environmental temperature.

Many dogs like poodles, schnauzers, Yorkies, and many other breeds have hair that needs to be cut.  Other breeds like the German shepherd and the retrievers have hair that sheds out all over the place.
