QuestionI'd like to know if my dog might have eye problems if one pupil gets bigger than the other? Eventually it goes down but it takes a little while.
Thanks, Jobe
AnswerThere are several causes of anisocoria, which is differing pupil size. It can be caused by trauma, by neurological problems and by metabolic diseases that lead to glaucoma. It is possible that something serious is behind the pupil sign so I would recommend having your dog seen by your veterinarian to determine the cause.
Best of luck to you and your canine companion.
