Taking blood pressure

Question
Dear Doctor Huang,
Could you please tell me what the standard way a vet would take the BP of a dog? And, if the standard way is not available, is there an alternate way that they would do it? Thank you very much, in advance, for any answer that you may give.  Regards,  Joe

Answer
Blood pressure in dogs is taken similarly to how it is in humans which an inflatable pressure cuff used to occlude the artery.  Instead of the stethoscope that is used to listen, a small Doppler transmitter is used instead as their limbs are smaller in size.

Hugest of apologies for the delayed response as I have been ill.
