German Shepherd Refuses to Eat.

Question
Last Sunday I took my dog to the ER after she wedged herself in crate following thunderstorm. She had a lot of trouble walking and could not get up without help. They gave her a morphine shot and sent her home with tramadol. On Monday took her to vet who added deramaxx. She ate on Monday and eating has since then decline. We have tried to forcefeed her, but she spits it out when normally she would have ate it without even bothering to chew. Though she is still drinking. The vet said to take off deramaxx, which we did on Friday as that could have been the reason for her not eating. We have tried the following in hopes of just getting any kind of foodin her... Ice Cream, Maple sryup, peanut butter, toast, crackers, rice and chicken with garlic(She did eat a whole bowl of this Monday), broth(drank a little on Saturday), tuna(ate some till she realized her pills were in it.), beef, Iams small dog food, Bacon dog treats, sprite, eggs, popsicles, sugar water, French toast, dog bones, milk, corn, ice cubes, Rigatoni (ate a little).
What can I do to encourage this 73 lb., 5 year old german shepherd to eat again? Thank you so much for your time and attention in this matter.

Answer
Hello: Kimberly, if she is still on the Tramadol, take her off of it. This is only needed for pain and major discomfort.
This could be messing with her belly.

Here are some ideas for you:

Buy some cottage cheese, see if she will eat a cup of this ( low fat), give 1/2 cup in the am and 1/2 cup in the PM... for 5 days.

Next, get some BARKING at the MOON food from The Solid Gold company. You should be able to find Solid Gold at the pet store. GET the dry and place some wet on top.  For wet ( canned food) please get the Wellness Formula Brand of White Fish and Sweet Potato.

Next, see if she will eat some canned pumpkin, the pure pumpkin.
Have her try 1/2 a cup and see if she likes it.  Do this every other day at 1/2 a cup each time.
