Question
My cocker spaniel is currently having her first season.  She is very good about keeping herself clean but i have noticed that she has started wetting again most nights. Is this a common thing or is there a problem behind this.  She is fine in every other aspect.

Answer
I am not sure what you mean by wetting. Is she wetting her bed at night? She will be bleeding throughout the second week and that might be what you are seeing. It is not a bright red blood but usually watery and blood tinged.
If she is indeed voiding her bladder then she might be having hormone problems or tonal problems due to the hormones. That is something the vet would need to treat.

You could get her some of those diapers that they carry for this reason.

If you are planning on breeding her make sure you wait until she is at least 2 yrs old. If not, then get her spayed as soon as she is done with her heat to lessen her chances of getting mammary tumors later on.
Even one heat cycle raises the risk and everyone after it raises it more and more.
