Dog constantly licking paws

I have a friend whose dog constantly licks her paws until they bleed. She will lick one paw till raw, then start on another. I would like to know what cause that and how to treat it.Thank you.

I am sorry but this dog needs to see a vet. There are too many reasons to mention in here why dogs lick but the end result is that your friend needs to get her dog in to be seen by a vet. Letting a dog go on like this is cruel. This has obviously been going on for a while.

Call the vet yourself if you have to and make the appointment. This dog is suffering and the role of an owner is to be responsible and alleviate suffering of their pets. So please remind your friend of this.
