Question
Hello, D. Christina Chambreau

i have recently purchased two rats one female (Squiggles) and one male (Nigglers). they were both getting along fine and looking very health. Squiggles became pregnant, she remained looking healthy all through the pregnancy.the day she gave birth i think all went well and we separated the male into a separate cage. however i notice that day Squiggles was acting very strange she seem to be going mental running and rolling around. (she seem as if she could not get balance). I thought she would be all good in the morning, but she wasn't.

She seems to be off balance and keeps falling over (she keeps holing her body all twisted around).

Her coat still seems shiny and she is still eating and drinking water.

She has not signs of diarrhea or blood in her urine.

I am extremely worried for her health and her babies.Thank you for your time and i really help you can help to point me in direction of finding out what is wrong with Squiggles.

Jaz

Answer
I do not know a lot about rats, but I would be concerned about her.
The very best thing you can do is to call Dr. Yearout in WA who will do a telephone consultation with you. He is a homeopathic and holistic veterinarian who specialized in little critters. It will be well worth the money to do that as you will learn sooooooooo much.
