Dry Skin and itching

My dog is about 3 yrs old and is a Beagle mix.
She seems to have very dry skin and scratches a lot.
I give her baths with moisturizing shampoos (about 1/mo) but doesn't seem to help. No flea problem that I can see.
Any suggestions?

If she has dry skin, it might be the result of a dietary deficiency of fatty acids.  There are many good fatty acid supplements that add oils to the skin.  You should check with your veterinarian to see why the skin is so dry and what can be done about it.
