cat with swollen sore lookig vagina

My cat has a swollen vagina it looks sore at either side and it appears has though it has been licked a great deal.Recently i have noticed her dragging her hindquarters along the ground and her stools have been unusualy small.She has been on steroids for several years due to a gum disease and atenolol for a heart condition but is otherwise ok, if a little withdrawn since yesterday.Is this something to worry about?

Have her anal glands been emptied recently.  Her behavior could indicate them being full and/or impacted.  If she by chance is not spayed it could also indicate heat, though it seems she is of advanced age so anal glands would be my first thought.  Your veterinarian would be able to empty them and prescribe antibiotics if infected.
