Question
Me and my husband just got a female german shepard puppy yesterday (5/21/09). She is only 10 weeks old. We got her from a puppy store in Jacksonville Florida. She came with all her shot and papers. She was just checked for any dieases or sickness the day before we got her. She came back fine. But now that we have had her home she keeps throwing up this clear/white foamy stuff. And she is doing it about every five mins or so. The only time she isn't is when she is sleeping. But she will wake up in the middle of the night throwing up again. Im worried that something is wrong. Just would like an answer. Thanks

Answer
Well, yes, something is wrong. Could just be stress from the change in environment also. But when you say 'puppy store' that worries me.

Most pet stores buy from Puppy Mills, whether they admit it or not. I know, I have worked in them (pet stores that is). First of all, she has only had one set, maybe two sets of vaccinations. She needs one every three weeks until she is 16 weeks old.

Secondly, parvo virus and other viruses are incubated for a week or so before they come down with the illness. So she might have parvo or just a gastro intestinal issue.

In other words, she needs to see a vet right away. You might want to hold off all food for 24 hours and limit her water to ice cubes.
But I really suggest you get her into the vet's soon.
