Question

BOO I just got a rat-terrier, Chihuahua mix and today while I was eating some fruit snacks I gave him one. Later I told my dad how much the RatCheese liked the fruit snack and my dad yelled at me for giving it to him. What I was wondering is that if it could possibly harm him or if my dad is being a total moron and worrying about the dog too much. Thank you

I wouldn't call your dad a moron but if you want your Cheesy dog to live a long, healthy life you won't give him any more fruit snacks or any other kind of snacks.

These types of dogs have a propensity to have digestive problems, some of which can be fatal to them. One of the most common one is pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas. They get it from eating random foods, snacks, fatty foods, etc.
Most common attacks happen after the owners give them a little "treat."

So yes, don't feed the RatCheese anything except his own dog food. That way he will stay healthy, won't gain weight and won't end up costing your folks hundreds of dollars in vet bills.
