Question
I have an older cat who is getting arthritic in his hind quarters.  Is it OK to give him baby aspirin?  I used to do this years ago with my small dog, and it did wonders for her (she lived comfortably to age 21).

Thanks,
PJ

Answer
Hi PJ!  I would definitely take your cat to your veterinarian to be sure that arthritis is the cause of the hind end discomfort and weakness.  Baby aspirin often times will upset a cat's digestive system, so you may need a prescription for medication from your veterinarian.  A small dose on bad days of Butorphinal would work well, as would feline glycoflex.
Best of luck and please let me know how he does!
