Question
My boxer got out and onto the railroad tracks a couple of days ago.  She came back with cut up and swollen feet.  They are getting better, but they continue to be swollen...one in particular is about twice the size it should be.  She has no problems getting around...and in fact is quite playful.  She doesn't act like they hurt at all.  My question is what should I do about the swelling?

Thank you,
Laura

Answer
Hi Laura!

Poor dog! First off, take her to the vet to have the foot evaluated. Sometimes with boxers they are such happy dogs, that their happiness goes past the pain.

Make sure she has no foreign bodies between the toes and pads and also make sure there is no sprains and or small breaks present.

Foot soaks in epsom salts can help with the swelling. Try this 3 times per day.

Good Luck!
