dogs health?

Question
I have been to the vet numerous times thiese past couple months. I have a mini pincher, that is incredibly adored. I relly feel I need to switch vets because.... T.J. my dog for a while, off and on has been acting different. Most of the time she is fine, but occasionally she drinks a lot of water, eats grass, and vomits. Seriously I have spent over 1000$$ in just 3 months (between both cat and dog). The vet diagnosed T.J. with having something wrong with her stomach. She thought it had topossibly do with eating something fatty, causing her stomach and intestines to flare?? Well, we put her on a strict diet and she seemed to do better. Now just recently she is back to vommiting just once three days ago and today she had some very wierd stool? It looked almost like hot dog skin wrapped around her stool. It wasn't inside her stool, only around. It wasn't runny, it was definitly solid. Tonight she is drinking alot of water, again eating grass, and eating her food normally. I just do not have money to tke her to the vet, get a bogus diagnosis, and spend another 200.00$. I'm going to watch her for another couple of days and see how things go. In the mean-time, I was hoping to see whatyou thought? Thank you brianne

Answer
She most likely has inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or low-grade pancreatitis.  Dogs will eat grass to help reduce the acidity of their stomach as well as help them vomit when they don't feel well.

An all-natural diet would be best as well as adding digestive enzymes and probiotics to her diet.  These changes should make her healthier and reduce the incidents of upset stomach.  You should also feed smaller meals throughout the day and not just one big meal.

I feed my one cat who has IBD PRAIRIE by Nature's Variety as well as supplement with Dancing Paws Shake 'N'Zyme and he does pretty well.  I would start there and give her a few weeks.
