Question

I nicole I just wanted to say thank you for your response to my letter.  I took my baby to the vet and I wanted to share with you and your readers what had occurred.  My dog had scratched her ear and somehow busted a blood vessel.  There was a blood clot they had to drain, leaving me out of $211.  But we must do what we must do for our babies.  Thank you again.

Question -
Hi I recently was treating my dog with "synotic otic solution".  On one night I believe I might have but in too many drops because the next day her left was a bit swollen, and now a week later her ear is even more swollen.  What can I do, I haven't but any drops in since that day. Thanks for whatever feed back you can give me. She is a 5yr old healthy pitbull.

Hi Ivette!

I think your dog should be okay, but I do recommend that you contact your vet,it has been a week and the swelling should have been down by now.If it was an overdose are as listed here:

Overdosage -  Signs of toxicity include: sedation and hematuria at non-lethal doses; coma, seizures, opisthotonus, dyspnea and pulmonary edema at higher dosages. Should an acute overdosage be encountered, treat supportively.

Please contact your vet and he may have more insight on this. Please keep me posted and give that Pitbull kisses for me!

Nicole
