what kind of filters do i need to start a saltwater tank?

Hello,

this would depend on how big your tank is. I like to filter 3 times the tanks volume (per hour). Also it depends on what your budget is as well. But Aqua clear and fluval make great filters. Aqua clear is a hang-on type which does a great job. Fluvals make a canister filter which are a bit pricey. I have an Aqua clear model 300 and a fluval 404 for my 55 gallon tanks.
