QuestionI'm up-grading my tank from a 20 gallon to a 65 gallon. I have turf algea on a piece of live rock that is groiwing out of control. I have been "plucking" it off but it grows back quickly (and thick). Is there any way to eliminate it...I don't want it to spread to the new live rock I purchased.
AnswerHi there,
Most algae feed off excess nutrients in the tank so keep a check on the nitrates. Also keep the lighting periods to about 6 hours a day until you have it under control.
There are a number of fish which are herbivores which will eat it as well as snails, urchins, and hermit crabs. Make sure you have enough snails
