Question
I have some coral rock, but i was going to wait to set up the tank because I am moving shortly.  WHat is the best way to keep the coral rock healthy. I dont know if i can let it dry up or just soak it in water.  Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Hi Jaret. To answer this question it is going to depend on how long the rock will be in storage. If you are only going to wait a few weeks you should be okay with keeping it in a bucket of saltwater with some sort of aeration.( you may have to change some of the water periodically.) If it is going to be much longer than that you might want to just let it dry out and get yourself some new live rock. You can still use it in your tank there just won't be anything alive on it any more. Even if it is only going to be a few weeks there is no guarantee that everything living on the rock will survive.
