Question
I set up a saltwater tank in arkansas.  the tank had some fish which died.  I tried treating the disease to keep them alive.    they did not live.  About a year later i moved my tank to wisconsin. I am afraid that i killed my live rock from the long move or cold weather in wisconsin. what do you suggest i do?

Answer
Hi Jesse. Did you store your live rock dry, or in water? Was it stored for an extended period of time or just during the move? What kind of medication did you use to treat your fish. Anti-bacterial medication will kill off all your good bacteria that colonizes the live rock and also may kill other organisms that make your rock "alive". If your rock was stored dry for an extended period of time it is no longer alive. If it was stored wet it is all going to depend on how you maintained it as to weather it is still considered live rock or not.
