Gourami Diseases

Question
We have 2 Gourami and 5 Neon Tetras.
I have noticed over the past few days that one Gourami is not looking too well. It is swimming with alot of effort and when relaxed its back end drops and then the fish looks like its dragging its lower half. I also noticed an orange looking sore on one side.

Any ideas what to do?

This does sound unusual. It might be that he was wounded somehow. You should try adding an antibacterial, possibly also some aquarium salt.

For an antibacterial I would recommend something like triple sulfa or tetracycline. Make sure they are aquarium approved brands bought from your pet store.
