Question
Hello.. I am setting up a new tank and added a piece of Driftwood.. I had it in a bucket of water for fourish days.. It sunk somewhat.. but after one day in the tank.. it is growing a whiteish fungus.. and I also see it on two rocks I placed in as well..

Is this harmful to fish.. and how do I get rid of it.. chemicals - natural - clown peco..? I am worried.. it will continue to spead onto the natural plants.

Thank you..

Answer
Hi Geo;

Something still on the wood is rotting. Remove it from the tank, scrub it thoroughly and boil the driftwood in water on the stove for a couple of hours or more. If it's long you may have to do one end at a time in the deepest pot you can find. Here is more info about driftwood prep for use in aquariums;
