Question
Dear Chloe,
Our beta is in a fair sized container with rocks and two bamboo plants.  He has a pretty good amount of water and air space is over 1/2 inch to top with lots of penings in it.  He has been happy and eating well until last couple of days and today he is, much of hte time, face down beside one of the bamboos, between rocks and side of bowl.  He ate one morsel of beta gold this am but spit out the next one later. What is wrong?  I turned up temp. in kitchen because our house tends to be a bit cool. He has beautifl color and fins; he looks fine to me.  The other day, my husband had motors on outside for quite a while - do you think the noise/vibration could have made him ill?
Thank you! Laurie

Answer
Hi Laurie,
If he is refusing food and he is in a downwards position this is a sign of an internal bacterial infection. Use a medication called Interpet's Anti Internal Bacteria. This should be useful. Meanwhile, daily water changes along with the medication could help him recover.

Good luck!
Chloe.
