Question
I moved my 4 black pirahnas from my 46 gallon aquarium into my 100 gallon aquarium last night. My ph in my 100 gallon aquarium was 7.2. I dropped it down to 6.0 within a 24 hour period, using Kent Freshwater ph control minus. 1 fish died and the other 3 are fighting to survive. They have cloudy eyes and look like their body has been affected by the acidic water. Since they were already accustomed to my 46 gallon aquarium is already established, I have put them back in there. What are their chances of survival? Is there anything that I need to do to help them improve their chance of survival? Will they be blinded due to the film over their eyes?

Answer
Hey

I must admit this question is very hard to answer because where I live piranhas are banned, so of course i have never own them before so ill do my best.Adding Piranha to a brand new aquarium stresses the Piranha, and sometimes it can be fatal. Try to make sure that nothing can stress your fish anymore then what they are now. There chance of survival can be pretty alright if you make sure there fed at the same time they are use to be before you moved them. Try to keep the pH at the same as it was. They might not go blind, it could pass though. But try to get the 100 gallon aquarium at the same pH as the 46 gallon aquarium and then try and move them again.
