Question
Hi I have a few Zebra danios and one was pregnant. I set up a seperate tank for
them and they layed there eggs about a week and a half ago and I was
wondering how long it takes for the eggs to hatch? Do you have to leave the fish
in with them? Am I doing anything wrong?

Answer
Hi Justin:  it takes up to three, sometime four days for eggs to hatch... however unless the eggs were fertilized after they were laid then they will not hatch... What I would do next time is to either, let the fish lay their eggs where they are then remove the adult fish after fertilization or move the females and a male or two to the fry tank and then remove the adults after the eggs have been fertilized.... it sounds like to me that your fish roe were not fertilized.... let me know if you have any further questions... dave
