guppy gills

I was just wondering if it was normal for the the gills to look pink on the outside. It looks like you can almost see through the outside of the gill. I have one pale yellow and a gray one. I'm kind of worried about it. I have had them for about eight months and i just noticed it today. Thanks in advance.

OOOOPS! I clicked the wrong option when I tried to answer your question a few minutes ago! Sorry!.....

Many lighter colored guppies are pretty transparent so you will see their gill color through their gill plates. Here are a couple of links to some pictures of others;

Unless they act unusual I would just assume it is their normal gill color.
